nova Milne is an amorphous entanglement (artist) in the cosmic fugue.
The visual, temporal, and sonic ecology of their practice orbits moving image and sound in articulated
environments, sculptures, and artist books. They often intervene with obscure media that’s been
dispersed, withheld, or transformed over time, sensitive to speculative narratives, omissions, and
discrepancies embedded in their circulation, or lack thereof.
Inclined toward the un-disciplinary forces of esoteric, micro-fields of reference, their choice of material is
always rooted to its latent emotive-charge.
Inter-subjectivity, porosity and contamination are an ongoing curiosity, saturating the conceptual and
emotional code of their language. A defined longing often emerges within the psycho-temporal
resonances and intensities of relational encounters that breach thresholds of time and space.
They’ve transited several cycles of place and time, but the event of their first encounter occurred as
teenagers on unceded Gadigal country (Sydney), where they once again physically/psychically inhabit
their intimately communal process.
